A hybrid
cell line resulting from the fusion of a specific
antibody -producing spleen cell (lymphocyte) with a myeloma cell, which has the growth characteristics
of the myeloma component and the
antibody-secreting characteristics of the lymphocyte, and will multiply to become a source
of pure
monoclonal antibody.
