Process in which a polymer surface is chemically modified by grafting or by the generation
of active sites that can lead to the
initiation of a graft
polymerization.
Notes:
- Peroxidation, ozonolysis, high-energy irradiation, and plasma etching are methods of generating active sites on a polymer surface.
