Nitroxide is the parent name used by Chemical Abstracts Service for
H2N–O.,
e.g.
(ClCH2)2N–O.
bis(chloromethyl) nitroxide. The IUPAC name is bis(chloromethyl)aminoxyl. Nitroxides
should not be used as a class name for
aminoxyl radicals.
