Phase domain of microscopic or smaller size, usually in a
block, graft, or
segmented copolymer, comprising essentially those segments of the polymer that are rigid and capable
of forming strong
intermolecular interactions.
Note:
Hard-segment phase domains are typically of
–
linear size.
