A group of
prenol derivatives in which
in the general formula
H–[CH2–C(CH3)=CH–CH2]n–OH
is greater than 4 and in which the residue that carries the hydroxy group is saturated,
i.e. 2,3-dihydropolyprenols.
Note:
The collective term prenol should not be used without qualification to include dolichols
since these are derivatives of
prenols.
