Dimroth–Reichardt $Math - title$ parameter

A measure of the ionizing power (loosely polarity) of a solvent, based on the maximum wavenumber of the longest wavelength electronic absorption band of:

in a given solvent. $Math - text$ , called $Math - text$ by its originators, is given by:

where $Math - text$ is in $Math - text$ , $Math - text$ is in $Math - text$ and $Math - text$ is in $Math - text$ . The so-called normalized $Math - text$ scale is defined as:
